OMG, I have gone native!

I have started doing this all the time:

Texas

(Image linked to its source)

They tell me about a party, a get-together etc., my first question usually is  “How long (not how far) is that place?”

P.S.: I know its wrong grammatically but hey, everyone else around here understand me perfectly. And that’s the purpose of any language, isn’t it?

  1. HEYY .. that's copyrighted by Bangaloreans. I'm suing you ;)

Here, the standard is to tell distance in hours (not even minutes).Mind you, it could be fractions too (like three-quarters of an hour) .. but it rarely is in minutes.

One other form of measurement which I predict will be the norm soon, is the number of traffic signals between point A and point B. For example, "My office is twelve signals away" :D
